Skepticism:

The Ancient Skeptics seem to have dealt with most of the issues still part of modern skepticism. Sextus seems to have codified much of this in his work.

Hume is considered the skeptic par excellence and is one of the British empiricists.

There are also contemporary skeptics.

This can still be described as a metanarrative even as a postmodern.
