How many students got how many correct?
Those with 0 correct: 10 (however, some of these may be frivolous.) A collection of those commandments that I found interesting follows. Some were considered correct but are still interesting for one reason or another; i.e. how many students spell "steal" with "steel?" An "x" followed by a number indicates the number of times that one occurred. As this collection grew I have begun grouping all of a students "commandments" together. Earlier I had just added them one by one. Thou shall not steal from thy neighbors. Thou shall not kill your neighbors. Thou shall believe in God. Thou shall harm thy neighbor. You should not steel. x 11 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor. Thou shalt not cut off your nose to spite your face. Be kind and true to others and yourself. Do to others as you'd want done unto you. No sleeping with another's spouse. Do not curse a fellow. Thou shall respect thy parents and thy brother. Thou shalt do unto others as you would do unto them. Thou shalt not drink with wine. No adultery -- honor husband -- something along those lines. Wrath. Sloth. Jealousy. Stealing. Murder. (Gave credit for three.) I guess I am affected more by the morals of society, set by society, then by the written ten commandments. Thou shalt not eat too much fast food. Do unto others as you have them do to you. Isn't there one about not taking one's own life -- like suicide? Thou shall not commit suicide. Avoid pride. Shall not prophisize (sic). Thou shall not worship any craven idols. Shall not worship any craven image. Thou shall not covent another man's wife. x 2 Thou shall not covent thy neighbors wife. Thay shall cheat on wives (adultry). Thay shall be bad. Obey the law. Thay shall not hate. Thou shall not believe in no God but me. I don't know because I have never been subjected to them because I don't practice a religion. (re: the TC). Thou shalt not keep the sabath holy. I don't know the ten commandments. Do to other as they do to you. Thou shall not covent another mans wife or the other way. Thou shall not covet with thy neighbors wife. Thou shall treat others as they wish to be treated. Thou shall not bear false prophecies. Thou shall not bear false prophecies. (Student was sitting next to student of quote above and also wrote: Thou shalt not bear false witness against me. (while the other student got #8 correct as well as including the error of "prophecies.") Thou shall not use the Lords name in vein. x 4 Thou shall not honor (worship) any false images. Not worship false profits!! Do not harm your body. Do not obey the law of the land. Do not sleep with your neighbors wives. Treat others as you want to be treated. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife (daughter.) Thou shalt not sin. Thou shalt not be mean to your neighbors. Thou shalt not argue with your elders. Thou shall not covedent thy neighbors wife. Neighbor something.... Treat others as they treat you. Treat your neighbor good. Thou shalt not forsake something.... Thou shalt not masterbate. This is the only one I know (Thou shall not kill). I follow Easter Philosophy and have little regard for the Christian Faith. - although most religions seem to have similar "guidelines" as the ten commandments. Don't refuse strangers. Don't marry your cousin. Remember to clean your bike. Always lube your chain. Always wear a helmet. Thou shall not use arm against each other. Shalt not commit acts of greed. Love thyself and thy neighbor. No education. Brainwash yourself in God. Deny all true knowleg. Have a lot of babys. Get married. Obey God. No fun. Eye for an eye. Thou shall not forget the commandments. x 2 Thou shall not commit gluttony. x 2 Don't use sacryligious symbols. Thou shall not lead into temptation. Thou shall not be greedy. Thou shall partake in homosexuality. Thou shall commit suicide. Do not maim, torture, wound, set fire to, or buglerize thy neighbor. Don't covet anything worthwhile. Don't fornicate as a sport. Thou shalt not read philosophy out loud to your co-workers! Don't speed on base. Don't make golden cows. Don't piss off the boss. Don't forget the 10 commandments. (Thou shall not?) eat meat on second Tuesdays. ... piss in public places. ...handle sheep and eat unwashed fruits while reciting your sister's bogus poetry that she wrote to impress her English prof. Don't be a shmuck (sic). Greed is good. Buy low sell high. Taxes are for shmucks (sic). Laws are for shmucks (sic). Intent over evalueation (sic). Don't forget to renew your WSJ subscription. Lincoln - What a luxury car should be. Be nice to people. (Comment: "schmuck" rather than "shmuck" as the Yiddish that uses "sch..." comes from the German word "schlimm" which means "bad." The prefix then gives each slang word the connotation of bad (whatever.) An example, on the TV show "Seinfeld" Jerry (our perspective in the show?) interacts with Kramer (a "schlamaza" from bad luck since "maza" is luck, and with George (a "schlimiel" -- a person of bad character) and with Elaine (a "schmata" or bad (loose?) woman. Just thought you might be interested.) Thou shall honor one God. Thou shall not use pornification (sic). Go to church. Listen mindlessly to your religious authority. Thou shalt not unevenly yoke beasts of burden. Thou shalt not have class when it is –25. Thou shalt not rush people taking quizzes. Thou shalt not ask questions like these. Thou shalt covet thy mother and father. Thou shalt not harbor thy neighbors wife. Thou shalt not grade this test. I shall not kill my father and mother. I shall not steal. The right to freedom of speech. I shall not covet my wife. Last updated August 31, 2003.
